As I've already said earlier on twitter, I'm going to write a post about my favorite albums on pathetic this blog, not my favorite albums of all time but to date. Why "to date"? Because I don't know what kind of great music the future will bring, yeah all I can say is, to date or until now.
After this you'll see that my taste of music is so narrow and boring, and maybe bad. Some of you even won't get why I love these musicians and albums. That's alright, eh? And in the end of the post I want you to show me yours in the comment box. That's gonna be awesome, sharing our own favorites, uuuuuuu. Hhahahha.
PS: These albums aren't placed in particular order, no rank or the most and the least, they all are the same.
Let's start:
1. Sum 41 - All Killer No Filler
WHY?: This album helped me go through my hardest days of junior high school when as a normal kid I was trying to figure out who I am, and the things around me were just so secure, safe, religious, and I wanted some challenges, I wanted to make mistakes and do stupid things. This album just saved me from loosing control and being the kid I wasn't.
2. Blink 182 - Dude Ranch
WHY?: The energy in this album merely fits my soul. Every time I listen to Dude Ranch I feel like I'm rejuvenated. I can see my self 30 years from now, old as fuck, and still feeling like I was 16 listening to this.
3. Avenged Sevenfold - Waking The Fallen
WHY?: This album holds too much memories. I listened to this album when I was 14 and those days were awesome. I learned how to play guitar for the first time while I was listening to this album. I made my first mistakes, I experienced my first let downs, yeah, pretty much everything for the first time.
4. The Used - Self Titled
WHY?: This album reveals my deepest insecurities. The things that I actually want but still can't be true. The ups and downs inside of me. And this album introduced me to my dearest friend, self pity.
5. Simple Plan - No Pads, No Helmets, Just Balls
WHY?: I'm a kid who always wanna be a kid. I can see my self clearly in this album, like every song in it is a reflection of me. Sometimes I'm a serious person, taking life so hardly, but when I feel like I need to loose a bit, I listen to this album. This album tells me that sometimes I need to just sit down and relax, life is what happening, just let it happen.
6. McFly - Just My Luck
WHY?: This album is so positive and heart-warming. McFly is a great modern Pop-Rock band for me. They know how to write good songs and makes me feel really connected to them. Their songs are easy to be understood, not that kind of deep-thoughts songs that make you think about life, ranting about how miserable your life was. The songs are just simple, with catchy choruses. This album shows me that life is beautiful.
7. Atreyu - The Curse
WHY?: This album is just different. Atreyu was a nice band. The concept of the album is rare. I'm about to laugh, but this album is like a tale of a vampire. Vampire? Really? Hahah, I know. But why not? When the other bands are trying to write songs about life and love and the other common stuffs, Atreyu sleekly writes songs about becoming a vampire. For some of you this might sounds odd, but for me, this is just a band of badass dudes trying to get their heads out of the box.
8. The Story of The Year - Page Avenue
WHY?: I still remember listening to this album when I was 13 and so unstable. Just like me, this album is unstable in a good way. Some songs are just hard badass, and some songs are slow, dramatic and tear-jerking. I'm not listening to this album earlier, but every time I hear "Until The Day I Die" or "Athem of Our Dying Day" anywhere, I have goosebumps.
9. Taylor Swift - Fearless
WHY?: I told you in the earlier post that I love this album. I don't really like Country music. But why can't I? Country music is just underrated. And Country music this good, who can refuse to listen? Fearless is an awesome solid artwork of an amazingly talented and clever artist. The songs are merely genuine and close to your everyday life. I can't say anything more, this album is brilliant.
10. Good Charlotte - The Young and The Hopeless
WHY?: This album contains a lot of teenage angst and social protests. How you can't fit it anywhere, how you hate your self from being pathetic and useless. This is another album that introduced me to self pity. This album makes me hate my self and everything. Sounds bad but it's good. Some songs are just so uplifting, like Hold On and Moving On. Yeah, this is one album that every teenager around 14 to 17 would like to enjoy.
11. Four Year Strong - Rise or Die Trying
WHY?: I love Easycore. And for me, there is no album that can represent Easycore better than Rise or Die Trying. If you want to start to listen to easycore, just listen to it. You'll fall in love deep and can't get out.
12. Veara - What We Left Behind
WHY?: Some people say that this album just a re-creation of a more pop punk version or A Day To Remember's album. But I don't think so. Maybe it's got some of ADTR vibes in it, but it's better and sleeker and mostly, different. Veara is a good band. They deserve more recognition. Their comparison to ADTR is just so pointless. Anyhow, this album sums up everything that you want to hear from a good modern pop punk band.
13. Hoobastank - Every Man For Himself
WHY?: You might asks, why not their Self-titled or The Reason? Well, I asked my self this once, but I keep answering; No, Every Man For Him Self is my favorite album of Hoobastank. It's pretty much because the first time I fell in love with Hoobastank I was not listening to The Reason or Crawling in The Dark, it was If I were You. And then I bought Every Man For Himself which was their latest album at the time and I was wowed! I was only 11 and since that moment I started to listen to music.
14. Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory
WHY?: Linkin Park used to be a young respected band. Hybrid Theory is brilliant and flawless. The sound is so sophisticated, modern and fierce. It's a kind of album that will drop your jaw. It's something that you cannot find anywhere. NuMetal might be dead, but this album will always bring it back to life every time you drown your self listening to it.
15. Tonight Alive - What Are You So Scared of?
WHY?: Tonight Alive is my recent favorite band. They're good and so surprising. You may compare them to Paramore but they're just different. What Are You So Scared of? is their debut album, you might be surprised but it's as good as it gets. The songs are spicy and fierce. Some of them will push you to the edge of your seat and let you jump around your room. It's sugary and hard and hot. It's like candy that's made out of glass. You think that it's sweet and breakable, but you will bleed your tongue chewing it.
16. Bullet For My Valentine - The Poison
WHY?: This album always brings me back to those days when I was 13-14. It's the golden era of Metalcore. This is a good metalcore album. My own era of metalcore was short because then I was introduced to pop punk and sold my soul to it, but my good memories of Metalcore will always remain in this album.
17. Nirvana - Nevermind
WHY?: You ask me why? This album is a masterpiece. I know that most of you have already put this album in the top of your favorite album list. I know it. What more can I say? This album is life squeezed into music, heart grated into melody and a soul packed into lines of beautiful lyrics.
18. Sex Pistols - Nevermind The Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols
WHY?: I'm a real big Punk culture freak. I love Punk. The culture, the music, the history. Every time I listen to this album I feel like I'm reading a history book about Punk. I don't get the songs as much as I get Good Charlotte's songs, yes, because these people wrote this album like, 40 years ago. You don't understand what was happening back then, how it feels like. And that's good, because you will always be curious, and try to dig more about what's happening and what has shaped punk until today.
19. The Wonder Years - Suburbia I've Given You and All Now I'm Nothing
WHY?: Utterly this album is perfect. The whole concept of this album is interesting. It's a story about a pigeon that is tired of his life but he just don't know why. This album shows a funny ironic side of trying to be a better person and get out of your boring everyday life. This album teaches me that where are you from is matter less than what you'll grow up to be out of it. It's a good pop punk album. And what's funny is, I almost cry listening to this.
20. New Found Glory - Sticks and Stones
WHY?: I always find a different atmosphere in every each of NFG's album. If Catalyst is dark, Nothing Gold Can Stay is cheerful and Coming Home is warm, Sticks and Stone is up set. And I love the up set atmosphere in the album. Actually I can't decide which NFG's album is my favorite, but I know it's Sticks and Stones. Why? I don't know. It's a youthful pop punk album that makes my soul leaps out of my body and jumps around my room every time I listen to it.
21. All Time Low - So Wrong, It's Right.
WHY?: Actually, I almost put Put Up! Shut Up! in this list, but I thought to my self, "really?". Put Up! Shut Up! is amazing, but it's raw. And Nothing Personal is good, but only good. I tried to figure out, which All Time Low's album is the best and I like the most, and I came up with the decision that So Wrong, It's Right is my favorite All Time Low's album. It's a bright pop punk/power pop album you can easily enjoy in a sunny day, and will cheer you up in your gloomy days.
22. NeverShoutNever - What Is Love
WHY?: It's beautiful. I love NeverShoutNever. Chris Drew always has his own way to impress me with his simple touching music. The songs hit me right in the heart. This album is simple, short, warm, makes me feel like I'm home all the time. Yeah, this album will show you what love is.
23. Hit The Lights - Skip School, Start Fights
WHY?: Another bright album. I love bright albums, make me feel so young and alive. When you feel friend-less and alone and shits like that, this album will fix it all. This album is just like my friend. I listen to it in my room alone and I feel like I'm hanging out with my friends downtown in a car. Hahah.
24. Greenday - Dookie
WHY?: I almost missed Greenday, for God's sake. Well, it's a little bit hard for me to pick between Dookie and American Idiot. But Dookie it is. I play songs from this album a lot and can't get bored. It's a fun but dark album for me. It's a classic album everyone will love.
Hoaaaaaaah...
I still got plenty of albums to be put on the list but so far those are my favorite albums to date. Some of them has been my favorite since long time ago, some of them just new comers. But that's alright. Old, new, as long as they make you feel good, they deserve it to be your favorite.
Well, mates, now I want you to tell me your list, if you have time. Hhaha. I will be really pleased to know your favorite music and musicians and of course your stories. Love you all.
Byee. See you on the next post.
